The Ovidius University of Constanța was established in 1961 as a public institution of higher education. It became a comprehensive university in 1990, offering study programs across a wide range of disciplines, including medical and natural sciences, humanities and engineering, social and economic sciences, law and administrative sciences, theology, and arts. The university is accredited according to the Law on Higher Education and is held in high regard by national and international institutions. It is the first Romanian university to be accredited in all three cycles of accreditation, certification, and qualification.

In the wake of the fall of the communist regime, the Ovidius University of Constanța underwent significant changes. It now comprises seven faculties, two centers, and one institute organized into six academic districts. The university has 13 faculties with over 40 departments and four institutes, an economic high school, a research institute with a space flight department, three colleges, a post-university level institution, and over 17,000 students.

Located in the large town of Constanta, Romania, the Ovidius University of Constanța is a non-profit public higher education institution officially recognized by the Ministry of Education and Research. It offers a range of academic and non-academic facilities and services to its students, including a library, sports facilities and activities, study abroad and exchange programs, as well as administrative services.

This private medical school is licensed by the Ministry of Education in Romania and provides English-language instruction in Medicine.
